Software Tester

The Group’s rapid international growth and increasing use of technology will ensure that this is a dynamic and challenging role. Your key responsibilities will be:
# Disseminate testing best practice across the account and project teams;
# Work with the management team to continuously improve testing maturity within the IT team;
# Formulate test strategies and test plans for system and user acceptance testing;
# Build, manage and develop a test team of between 2 and 5 test analysts;
# Coordinate test environment, test data preparation and setup;
# Manage test issues and escalate as appropriate;
# Mentor junior team members;
# Lead and support other project and business testers performing the testing not necessarily from a formal testing background;
# Involvement in test development, execution and reporting when necessary
You should be able to quickly establish testing requirements, and work with the wider account team and business to deliver the most appropriate outcome. A structured and consistent approach to analysis and problem solving, adherence to project deadlines, testing methodology and process is essential.
Your background will include:
# Expert knowledge of testing methodologies and process
# Experience of System Development Lifecycles
# Relevant testing experience especially with Internet, Intranet, .NET or Java / J2EE web applications and Web Content management.
# Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
# Knowledge of HTML and XML
# Advanced PC MS Word & MS Excel skills
# Strong understanding of software configuration management, change request management or release management tools and the underlying processes
On a personal level, you have the excellent customer service capabilities, strong communication skills, a demonstrated problem solving ability, are self motivated and have a drive for excellence. You should be able to work within a high pressure project environment with the ability to multitask as needed.
