Certified Medical Coder

A large specialty medical practice is in need of a Certified Medical Coder. It’s a part time position. Must have experience in physician/surgical coding and electronic claim billing. Medical Coder candidates must have full understanding of CPT and ICD-9-CM coding, medical terminology, Microsoft Word and Excel, be very detail oriented and dependable.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Charge entry (office & surgical)
• Claims filing (paper & electronic)
• Insurance follow up (denials, resubmission & appeals)
• Patient billing
• Collections
• Keep up with current payer guidelines
• Work well in a team environment & maintain a positive attitude
